Way cool hair pollution is a place for community to meet, get crazy at times & express themselves. It has almost a 20 year history in phoenix. Monthly art shows, benifit shows, public awareness , working salon, gallery, vintage clothing & local designed clothes in boutique, & an active art studio in back. Caters to all that need a creative outlet & excepting atmisphere. Even if you dont get your hair done here, its worth peeking your head in the door, just to check it out.
This place sure has a long legacy behind it: after opening in 1952 as the red diamond, this former residence has been known as cholla bay, louie’s, vj’s, and mcguires throughout the years. Things settled down when it became the blues joint warsaw wally’s for a couple of decades, but switched into the 26th street blues bar, and finally chopper john's. Besides offering live music on friday and saturday nights, this nightspot has the usual pool tables, dart machines, and touch-screen video games. Just don’t bust your head open on one of the low-hanging rafters.
