Annabels Ashes

from Tucson • Punk/Punk

Influences:

AFI, Blitzkid, Tiger Army, The Other, BZFOS, Misfits

Description:

Formed in 2011 and hailing from tucson, az: horror rockers annabels ashes hit the scene hard with their first show on a fitting friday the 13th. Proving they had what it takes to break into the arizona horror scene, they were soon opening for horror punk/psychobilly icons such as blitzkid and nekromantix. Fueled by their love of silent era horror movies, and taking inspiration from horror and punk legends such as: afi, misfits, blitzkid, and the other, annabels ashes set out to create a dark, menacing style of music full of raw energy and a romantically macabre sound. Mixing brutal heart pounding rhythms with dark vocal melodies annabels ashes set off for the studio in 2012 to record and release their debut album revenant on clusterpunk records. Driven by the response they've received annabels ashes shows no sign of slowing down, and are only just beginning to show what they have in store!

Cult of the Yellow Sign, The

from Phoenix • Noise/Lo-Fi

Influences:

H.P. Lovecraft, Christian Michael Filardo, broken Gameboys

Description:

The cult of the yellow sign is a antirationalist sect of doomsday cultists hellbent on the destruction of your insignificant world. Through our devotion to the outer gods that swell and twist maddeningly in the center of the universe, we plan to reduce your meaningless planet to a burnt cinder of smoldering refuse. We are an equal opportunity employer with a comprehensive benefits package.

Manual Sex Drive

from Tempe • Post-Punk/Experimental

Influences:

Bauhaus, Eddie Cochran, Mr. Bungle, Oingo Boingo, The Cure, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys

Description:

Do you remember what rock 'n roll is, but are still upset about how badly the mainstream fucked it up? Well you don't have to listen to that dubstep bullshit, you still have options! Manual sex drive is one of them. Msd is what rock n' roll should have evolved into: gloomy, yet dance-able, dark, but satirical, goth rock for a new generation, jaded by the marketing gimmicks that music has become. Some say they are "like oingo boingo on acid" others say it's mr. Bungle meets the cure. Whatever they may or may not remind you of, msd is a band set outside of any scene or fad. They are more of a militant freak show.

Hug of War

from Phoenix • Posi/Black Metal

Influences:

Devo, Tiny Tim, Wu-Tang Clan, Minor Threat, Heino

Description:

Excerpt from "the ultimate truth: how hug of war saved humanity," an essay written by captain clarity in september 2084: "of course, it is widely accepted as scientific fact that hug of war is the greatest thing to happen in all of history. Yet there was once a time where this wasn't the case. Hug of war started as just another solo project coming out of phoenix, which consisted of a gentleman named jason kron who was sometimes accompanied by friends. Their message of love struck a chord with the masses, who at the time were obsessed with economic collapse and fear of impending apocalypse. Now the work of hug of war is celebrated by everyone without exception, as it is because of this band that there is no hunger, illness, fear or unhappiness. "

the HIPS

from Phoenix • Surf/Post-Punk

A two-piece band making music in the desert.
